Optimism is essential to achievement and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.

Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).

So, February is kind of a strange looking month. Maybe it’s odd because it seems to still be processing the odd struggles that were January. Either way, the main focus of the first half seems to be letting oldness go and integrating recent developments. The second half switches more towards planning and taking action to make the most of what we can. The other theme seems to be the battle between discouragement versus determination and self-support: This is the time to be very careful about self-defeatism and pessimistic conclusions. Look for the silver linings and keep on keeping on.
Venus conjoins Neptune on the 1st at 9:36 am (pacific), giving us a chance to relax, reflect and try to find some peace. This is a time to release the tension and re-harmonize our internal balance. Spend some time alone and distracted by music or other beautiful things.
The Sun sextiles Uranus on the 2nd at 4:29 am (pacific), sponsoring some shaking up of our beings. Do something out of the ordinary, talk about whacky things, blow off some steam, safely, and anything else that gets you excited. Embrace the need to rebel from the lesser things in life.
The Full Moon is on the 3rd at 3:09 pm (pacific) in 14 degrees of Leo. This should be a rather delightful lunation; full of hope and excitement, or at least relief. But it will still require us to let old programming make way for greater optimism. Reject fear based worry and let it go. Open and open more to the best possible ways to handle our affairs and strive to more awesomeness.
Mercury sextiles Saturn on the 5th at 3:40 am (pacific), sobering us up with the realities of existence. The main thing is to keep undoing and releasing fear-based thought patterns. Instead, try to give ample credit where it’s due, starting with ourselves. And let us all cut ourselves some slack. It’s all a process.
The Sun opposes Jupiter on the 6th at 10:20 am (pacific), tempting us into some rather fantastical envisioning. We should definitely be imagining the most propitious trajectory for ourselves. However, we should also stay patient with the speed of manifestation. Aim high, but keep a level head.
Venus sextiles Pluto on the 7th at 9:51 pm (pacific), stirring the cauldron of our inner depths, hopefully for cleansing. Let us make more room for enjoyment by letting go of grandiose expectations and settling ourselves firmly into the present. Practice mindfulness and avoid dramatization of anything other than pleasure.
Mercury stations direct on the 11th at 6:57 am (pacific), starting us down the path of resolution for the last 3 weeks of alterations. Hopefully we have cleared out some of our issues about showing up in our worlds/communities and can now take steps to concretize these recent adjustments. Don’t slip back into old patterns. Seek to see in a new way.
The New Moon is on the 18th at 3:47 pm (pacific) in 29 degrees of Aquarius. This is a tricky one. The goal is to undo, dismantle and jettison as much old crap as possible; particularly about our relationship with people in general and how we are affected by interactions. But we can also get rid of unreal expectations, disillusionment and disappointment, and much more. The key, as usual, is that we have to do it ourselves, starting deep in our core. Clear the way and reset what you can.
The Sun moves into Pisces on the 18th at 3:50 pm (pacific). This go around will pivot around how much we can let go of our old visions of self. It’s time for the old stories to go so that we can start showing up more as our current beings than as shadows of our former selves. Press the reset button as much as needed.
Mercury sextiles Saturn on the 19th at 5:06 am (pacific), giving us a chance to start strategizing our next moves. Hopefully our to-do-lists are more streamlined and ready for practical, step-by-step planning. Map it out, make outlines and don’t indulge in defeatism or being daunted into inaction.
Mars moves into Aries on the 19th at 4:12 pm (pacific), where he will stay until March 31st. This will speed things up quite a bit and make for some more volatile energy. The key is to stay true to ourselves without imposing our will onto others. Let us become clearer about what we really want and start taking action towards achieving these goals. Avoid impatience and don’t rush things; consistency is golden.
Venus moves into Aries on the 20th at 12:06 pm (pacific), where she will stay until March 17th. This will be a somewhat challenging phase when diplomacy and attentiveness will be of great value. We need to keep other people’s perspectives in mind while asserting our wish-list. Practice a balanced assertiveness and listen carefully to others.
Venus conjoins Mars on the 21st at 9:13 pm (pacific), getting us fired up and hopefully more motivated than pissed. We should be setting goals and making intentions. Don’t bemoan results that aren’t up to your liking; instead try to be bolstered into greater commitment towards improving what you can. Don’t fight, unite.
The Sun squares Saturn on the 23rd at 5:56 am (pacific), pushing us to take stock of our current situations. Just don’t be too harsh with the measurements, because times have still been strange. Let us support ourselves and respect our efforts and resolve to further our determination in times to come. But definitely let go of guilt, remorse, fear and other such deterrents. Stay solid.
Venus trines Saturn on the 24th at 6:58 am (pacific), lending itself to rewarding ourselves for jobs well done, or at least effort well applied. This is no time to be too hard on ourselves; instead seek to keep giving yourself credit for surviving and trying and focus on enjoying all you can.
Mars trines Saturn on the 25th at 7:09 pm (pacific), highlighting certain areas that need more attention and energy. Staying positive is very important; as is avoiding conflict and airing grievances flippantly. Focus on yourself as your main project and keep working on it, and working on it. All in due time.
The Sun conjoins Neptune on the 25th at 8:55 pm (pacific), demanding that we let go and let it be. It’s not about having faith, per se, it’s more about not struggling to understand that which is beyond us, or not yet revealed. It would be good to spend some time alone; in meditation, with music, swimming, contemplating, drawing, et cetera. Release and allow.
So, yeah. It should be interesting. It’s hard to say what February will end up revealing to us—about ourselves, our communities, our fears and so much more. But it’s a safe bet that we will have a different stance by the end of it. There’s definitely a focus on autonomously moving through our issues and not dragging other people out of theirs/into ours. Easily said, to be sure, but crucial. Keep giving credit and cutting slack and progressing down the road.
