“Sattva is the radiance of your real nature. You can always find it beyond the mind and its many worlds.”
~ Nisargadatta, I am That
Look Up | What do the planets have to say?
This New Moon has quite a message of strength, optimism, spirit and courage. All traits of Aries, ruled by Mars. Definitive action and a new start! The Moon in astrology represents the instinct, emotional expression and the patterns that we bring with us from the past.
The astrology for this New Moon suggests a focused reordering of the past. And as all planets are falling within the first and sixth houses it is on a rather personal level that we take a look at the structures that serve us and those that do not.
Capricorn on the Ascendant is structure and utilization of resources. At this time we are being asked to make the best use of our resources as the structure that we are used to is being significantly altered.
The Determination of Capricorn
Leading the compact line up is south node in Capricorn that acts as a bracket to all of the energies that whirl about in our environments right now. Where we have been and the structure we have created is represented by south node in the sign of the goat. Remembering that we have been challenged throughout history and have prevailed. The point of fortune (a circle with a cross) conjuncts the south node. Is where we find our greatest sense of satisfaction, fulfillment. Shows us that being of ease can be accomplished through having faith and trust in our ability to scale the mountain and achieve ‘great heights’. That is the determination of Capricorn.
We are on an Evolutionary Journey
At the other end of the closely aligned planetary lineup is the north node in Cancer, where we are headed—instinctive, feeling and nurturing. Asking the mind to rest. Listening to the heart. From 1st to 6th house is the individual, evolutionary journey. How we cope in our relative isolation and having opportunity to increase awareness of the unlimited source of ‘companionship’ that we are. Venus is the final planet in the line up and asks us to take a look at what our real values are. In Taurus she shines light on our desire for relationship, compassion and calls for a greater sense of self worth and security.
What gives us the only real sense of security? As everything around us seizes to exist at some point attachment to the material world can leave us feeling disappointed or distressed/in fear. Knowing that our true nature is the creator of all can diminish fear. In this moment, now, there is a greater sense of togetherness as we all face the demands of dealing with this virus. We are here for each other even in isolation. With all of the empathy, compassion and positive attitudes that we share, healing is happening.
No matter what obstacle we are confronted with, the fact that we are in relationship here is a reassuring fact. It is the nature of experience here—relationship. The only object in the upper half of the chart is the asteroid Juno (the goddess of relationship) in the 9th house of higher learning, wisdom and spiritual aspiration. It guides us to a higher source for resolution to whatever personal queries we have. And in the sign of Libra, again relationship and balance Juno encourages us to find that place of harmony within to serve as our guide.
There is a great sense of this planet exhaling the past and rising in LOVE. There is excitement and optimism in spite of the circumstances that surround all of us at this time. We don’t want to isolate. We want to share and care for each other during this global situation. LOVE eases and harmonizes. Kindness is healing. As human beings we have the potential for both without limit. We are en route to creating a cure. Let us ‘embrace’.
What is the next step?
In a recent visit to Vedanta Temple it became clear that as much as we are desirous of ‘letting go’ and being free, many of us are still with one foot in the past. It is not a strong position nor is it serving this moment. As long as we maintain a thread to what was it influences our decisions and actions now. How do we step out of the past? Willingness and patience. It happens.
“The guru wants to save you from endless pain. Such is his grace. Even when there is no discoverable
outer guru, there is always the sadguru, the inner guru, who directs and helps from within.
~Nisargadatta, I am That
One step at a time…what is the next step? Both feet here and now.
Inhale the sunrise. Exhale the Moon. Bend with the bough, the wind ushers me on. Observe the many layers of unfolding. I am that.
Lustrous ebony, pure and reverent white–numerous varied hues between. Kaleidoscope of life. Whirling ever inward? Outward? Are we standing still or propelled forward at indefinable pace?
No. Simply being open to, aware of, that of which only awareness knows.
So, what is the next step? I haven’t an answer, only a suggestion for the journey: receptivity, listening, feeling. Receive as the shore accepts the wave. Listen to the deepest sound as it arises from the heart.
And feel the deep emptiness that is you and is me; that we are, That.
Blessings to one and all for a peaceful transition through this challenging time. We have so much to share. No one will be without. We need only ask.
