Children aren’t coloring books. You don’t get to fill them with your favorite colors. ~Khaled Hosseini
Did you recently feel a gentle breeze stroke your cheek and an ease about the day? That would have been Saturn going direct on June 25th releasing us to frolic and enjoy a slightly less contemplative summer! For some there may be a real sense of liberation while for others what is occurring might be on a more subliminal level.
The results may surface when the house occupied by Saturn in your chart is next traversed by the moon or Venus. And as Libra is about relationships, either with others or yourself, you may see what you have learned in that regard over these past few months since Saturn went retrograde February 7. Saturn retrogrades approx. every 378 days. Next will be 02/08/13 @ 11 degrees Scorpio.
After the scrutiny, the insight provides stimulation for further insight. And as Jupiter, the planet of enthusiasm, optimism and expansion has entered Gemini, we may find ourselves bouncing through July with giddy delight. Or, at least with a playful exuberance which wants us to partake of summer festivities while at the same time attending to the mind’s requisite for more information that ultimately enhances awareness. As we sift through piles of data, we find eventually that though it seems to fill a need for explanation, it does not address the deeper question of “who am I?“
July is like the VII of Pentacles/Coins/Discs. After much hard work it is time to reap the rewards of your toil. Wherever you planted, watered and nurtured seeds, you will see abundance. Whether in your garden, career, relationships or self awareness, the effects of your labor are significant gain. This contributes to a relaxed state of being in which what has been held onto is released. There is no need to possess when it is obvious that everything you need is available all the time–aplenty. It is the kind of relaxation that may have been experienced as children, before the demands of adulthood crept into your world. There was peace and time to lie in a field to watch the clouds drift by without a thought of anything outside of that moment.
July is a great month for self-appreciation! Well, every month allows us that opportunity, but July with Sun in Cancer until the 22nd has the particular advantage of recognizing on a deep level what you are feeling. This is a good time to express in practical reality that which emerges from your heart. As it is not possible for a mistake to be made, there can be a bold and direct manifestation of whatever you wish to see materialize. Imagination and the intuitive process lead us into new territory and adventures that burst the old patterns of thinking and illuminate exciting possibilities. The waters have been tested, over and over again, so there are no fears to consider! Only a direct path to “success”.
The Chariot VII, portends accomplishment based on having traveled in various directions to determine the ‘right’ path upon which to meet that which is unavoidable–the next moment. The reins are in your hands. No one else can be responsible for what comes to you or what does not come to you. In fact whether it does or does not is of little importance or concern. We utilize a lot of energy in wonder or worry. It is so much easier to enjoy the ride and appreciate the scenery. We are going there anyway…
Mid-month with Mercury retrograde, there may be a tendency to sit on an idea rather than push it out before it’s ready to see daylight. Temperance XIV, counsels patience as is required while planting new seeds. Some of the garden is ready for replanting. If you have harvested, it may be time to reseed, in which case, while Mercury is retrograde in creative Leo, let your mind busy itself with planning. If you tend to be generous with your thoughts and with advising others, this is a time to heed your own counsel and perhaps resist a temptation to be the director.
July should be ‘child appreciation’ month. In James Wanless’s Voyager deck the first card of the major tarot is the Fool-Child 0. The Fool is the beginning of the journey. As everything is new, faith and trust are required to move boldly into the unknown. Children often have courage based on the assumption that everything is possible. If you stand on the edge of the abyss, of course you jump! What a beautiful world seen through the innocent eyes of a child. How invigorating to be in free fall rather than resistance, knowing that whatever needs to occur will, and whatever does not, will not.
July is for enjoyment! Happy Canada Day (July 1st) and Happy July 4th!
