The purpose of our lives is to be happy.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
So, July, at least it’s not June, right? Okay, well, the first half really seems to focus on recovering and processing, rinse and repeat. There has been quite a bit of action astrologically that will take some time to unwind, so we should work on catching up a bit. Later in the month, we start to get a strong dose of Leo and the need for enjoyment and letting our hair down. Letting loose and shaking off the cobwebs is on the menu, but caution is still called for.
Venus sextiles Jupiter on the 1st at 12:18 pm (pacific), lending a touch of buoyancy. This is where we can reassess what we’re aiming for in the simpler areas of life: home, family, health, and diet. We need richness in these areas, but moderation will serve us well.
The Sun trines Neptune on the 3rd at 4:02 am (pacific), asking us to take a break from the push of it all. There’s been a lot of tension in the air lately and we need space and time to get back to a more peaceful place, or at least to recover some semblance of sanity.
The New Moon is on the 4th at 4:01 am (pacific) in 12 degrees of Cancer. This would be a nurturing and lovely lunation were it not for Pluto’s ever-present intensity. The general push is to keep simplifying whatever we can. Trim down the unnecessary so that what is left will receive better care.
Mercury trines Neptune on the 5th at 5:20 am (pacific), sending us off into murky waters. This time is best spent doing non-intellectual matters and being careful with communication. Do something ritualistic to get you out of your head and to better flow with the currents.
Venus trines Mars on the 6th at 1:17 pm (pacific), frothing up some sparks of love and attraction, or possibly some conflict. Either way, be very mindful of others as you also work to express your desires. But yeah, plan a date of some sort to make the most of this, or just practice increased self-love.
Mercury conjoins the Sun on the 6th at 8:24 pm (pacific), letting us recalibrate our mind/self/heart connections. The idea is to get back to our centers without over-thinking. Feel into where you are now and work on being comfortable there.
Mercury and the Sun oppose Pluto on the 7th at 4:54 am and 3:24 pm (pacific), stirring the pot to bring up all the under-chunks in need of processing. Excavate into yourself and remove false narratives, exaggerated fears, old hurts, and whatever else you can find. And don’t indulge in any paranoid tendencies.
Venus squares Uranus on the 7th at 7:24 am (pacific), tossing us into a crazy space. Do something bizarre and untried to channel this shaky vibration. But be careful with people, especially where emotions are concerned.
Mercury sextiles Jupiter on the 8th at 2:06 am (pacific), asking us to once again reconsider our trajectories around self-care and connecting with our people. Simple and efficient, but sweet, is the general goal.
The Sun sextiles Jupiter on the 9th at 10:41 pm (pacific), giving space for us to revivify our self-conceptualizations and recommit to more self-improvement and tenderness. It’s about bringing more softness into our worlds.
Mercury trines Mars on the 10th at 7:00 pm (pacific), helping us process all that has gone on in the last few months of intense change. Now we can get better perspective and start to unfold our feelings and maybe some revelations. Dig into it.
Mercury squares Uranus on the 11th at 12:29 am (pacific), sending our minds spinning into a vortex. The simplest strategy would be to stay loose and calm but poised. However, there will be temptations or forces that could easily throw us off balance. Stay present and cautious.
Venus moves into Leo on the 11th at 10:34 pm (pacific), where she will stay until August 5th. This will be a time of getting back to having fun and trying to recapture our innocence as best we can. Play around, go see some shows, dance, and generally relax into enjoyment.
Mercury moves into Leo on the 13th at 5:47 pm (pacific), where he will stay until the 30th. This will tend to make us more expressive and bombastic, but hopefully in a way that is sensitive to our surroundings. Have some fun and sing some songs.
The Sun squares Uranus and trines Mars on the 16th at 6:31 am and 8:45 pm (pacific), making this a rather dangerous day if we’re not on our toes. A positive expression would be contemplating how we can best shake off our old selves and revitalize into newness.
Mercury trines Saturn on the 18th at 11:28 pm (pacific), bringing out the measuring stick for us to take stock of our progress. Focus on gains, not the remains, and consider what minor tweaks could help push things along. Work on viewing it all as an opportunity, not a duty.
The Full Moon is on the 19th at 3:56 pm (pacific) in 27 degrees of Capricorn. This lunation finds us mostly still processing and recovering from recent times and working to uncover what it all means. Don’t take anything too seriously and make sure to reach out to trusted people for reflection.
Venus trines Saturn on the 20th at 6:20 am (pacific), opening the door for more alignment between enjoyment and doing hard work. Focus on the rewards and the satisfaction instead of the struggle. Give yourself credit where due, and then some more, and respect the effort.
The Sun enters Leo on the 22nd at 2:30 am (pacific), starting another season that begs for frivolity and merriment despite what may be going haywire around us. A call to innocence should be heeded and allowed to penetrate into our beings. But most of all, have fun.
Mercury trines Uranus on the 27th at 12:45 am (pacific), stirring more whacky thoughts and communications around. As per usual, embrace the strangeness of yourself, but don’t impose it on others if they are not a willing audience.
Mercury squares Mars on the 29th at 1:49 pm (pacific), making for much tension around communication and getting around town. Be careful and mindful around, well, everything. But, it could help us slice down to the heart of certain issues and help us make better decisions in the long run.
Uranus stations retrograde on the 29th at 2:06 pm (pacific), beginning a long period of revising the new weirdness into yet newer strangeness. We don’t need to know how it will end up, and we really can’t, but we should keep plunging in to fresher versions of ourselves and how we meet the world.
Mercury moves into Virgo on the 30th at 11:19 am (pacific), where he will stay until October 7th, due to retrogradation. This is going to be a long and crazy stay, so a ritual to honor the starting point would be appropriate. This period will push and pull us all over the place, but the ultimate goal is one of improvement wherever we can make it: health, communication, compassion, dedication, flexibility, and so much more.
Venus trines Uranus on the 31st at 9:07 pm (pacific), opening the door for some fun and revelry. Get out there and dance to the music and let your inner-freak-flag fly high.
So, yeah, July. It’s rather mellow relatively, however, some people will still be feeling crunched if their charts are strongly in the mix. Either way, self-love, community enrichment, digesting our lives, connecting and reconnecting with people, and, more is, hopefully the result.
