Lose not yourself in a far off time, seize the moment that is thine.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for one’s context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but also helps to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
Oh wow, June. Who knows what madness it will bring? I can say that it has a whole lot of push towards clearing out the past and trimming things down. It does seem like a time when some could get stuck, or more stuck as the case may be, and we will be challenged to keep going or risk losing precious momentum and windows of opportunity. However, it’s too much to really process at the time, so we’ll all be relying on less confirmation of progress than usual. Therefore, trust is probably required to maintain your bearings. Hopefully recent work will serve as map, but then the question is: where are you going? What is the goal?
Mercury conjoins Venus on the 1st, prompting us to move towards cleaner methods of communication with loved ones. Choose to stay conscious during interactions and avoid outdated programming. Listen carefully and speak slowly.
Mercury trines Saturn on the 3rd, possibly dragging the past out for renewal or, at least, renewed learning and processing. The key is staying respectful of all parties involved and not advocating blame logic. Stay on the middle path and/or keep looking for that balance point.
There is a Lunar Eclipse in mid-Sagittarius on the 4th, at 4:12 am (pacific). It’s a rather tricky energetic mix that will be sinking us deeper into our idiosyncratic bundle and all of our stories. It will be about our past; how we have viewed it and how we feel about it now. Participate in revising the personal mythology that is founded on nostalgia and justification systems. Sometimes it’s easier to chew over the past than to relive it in fresh forms: Honor without attachment and learn anew.
Neptune goes retrograde on the 4th, setting us on another journey of revisit and release. This centers on our sense of awe for the world and our beliefs in general. It’s about releasing confusion, which is easier said than done, because one must first find what one can not normally see.
Venus squares Mars on the 4th at 5:29 pm (pacific), giving a hefty jolt to our systems. What this will look like depends largely on how well we have been working through our issues and conundrums, but it’s not going to be easy. Mindfulness and healthiness are the goals. Try to let go of what you can; stay calm and keep moving.
Venus conjoins the Sun on the 5th, at 6:10 pm (pacific) for a visible transit across the disk of the Sun that won’t happen again for more than 100 years. This is an intense one! Being more wholly ourselves while connecting more authentically with others is the goal, but the path will not be so clear. It’s yet another plunge into the morass of our past; to cleanse and learn from our trials and trails without indulging the various mental temptations: to aggrandize, to idealize, to characterize and demonize. Love you, and all former versions of you, but be in the now.
Mercury moves into Cancer on the 7th, where he will stay until the 25th, increasing sensitivity to words and home environments. Doing projects that help organize and sort our physical worlds is supported— especially if it’s catch-up. Make sure to allow adequate time for rest and recovery; much has transpired that could use further digestion before we set out on another mission.
The Sun squares Mars on the 7th, tending to heighten certain dangerous tendencies—particularly distraction and impatience. Pay close attention to whatever you are doing and practice patience and non-reaction towards things out of your control. It would be wise to do something active to channel the energies into some productive; cardiovascular or other healthy pursuits. Just be careful.
Mercury trines Neptune on the 8th, lending a more dreamy quality, or is that fantasy knocking at the door? It could be both dreaming about better futures and missing the supposedly easier times. But the idea is to find that source of inspiration wherever you go and whatever you are doing. If you don’t see the grace in it, look for it.
Jupiter moves into Gemini on the 11th at 10:22 am, where he will stay until June 25, 2013. This will be an extended foray into our mythmaking engines: our minds. The goal is to gain a better understanding of how and why we choose what we do. How does our conditioning lead us to respond to events? Can we assume more control over these semi-automatic functions, or at least flow more smoothly with them? There are so many questions to ask ourselves and so much information to reformulate, that we had better get going with it. Let yourself explore.
Mercury squares Uranus and opposes Pluto on the 11th, stirring the pot of life’s crazy intensity. Yet again, this is about how we react, how we can self-adjust instead of trying to “fix” what we find in front of us. Focus on you: releasing hang-ups, increasing adaptability and flexibility and not taking things too seriously. Humor is an essential leavening ingredient for this recipe.
The Sun trines Saturn on the 13th, bringing up some more of our issues in the guise of other people and day to day life. Take responsibility for what is yours and respect the rest; we really don’t have other good options. Be patient with everyone and make sure to give yourself credit for surviving.
The New Moon is in late Gemini at 8:02 am on the 19th. This time it’s about getting back into better touch with the body and the intuition. It’s been a very heady time and now we can take a little break from our studies and get more grounded. Try and stop the mind from spinning, pay attention to what you eat, and avoid too much stimulation. Let go of inner diatribes that have been worked into meaninglessness. Take a break.
Mercury squares Saturn on the 20th, pulling some heavier thoughts and fatigue up to the surface. How do things go when we find ourselves worn out but having to do important work? Use ritual and consistency to keep yourself centered and moving. Do whatever you can as long as you don’t push yourself too hard. Find a respectable pace.
The Sun moves into Cancer on the 20th, marking the longest day of the year. It will be a welcome aid to the movement from the brain into more embodiments. Knowledge means nothing if we are not living by it.
Venus sextiles Uranus on the 20th, enticing us towards more freedom and fun and/or making us crazy over the mundane. It can’t always be a wild adventure, and though it sounds good on paper, we wouldn’t always enjoy it. Instead, infuse the doldrums with whatever freshness you can. And don’t worry about finances any more than necessary.
Mercury sextiles Mars on the 21st, helping us move on from the past 8 months (Mars’ retrograde area). It’s fresh territory but it is also very familiar; it’s the same old eternal newness. Catching up on old projects and getting our awareness evermore into the present is the name of the game. Apply steady energy towards your goals and try not to over think much of anything. Measure twice, cut once.
The Sun trines Neptune on the 23rd, giving us the urge to relax and float. Unfortunately, life does not often afford us this opportunity, so we are left to create and find our sacred personal space whenever we can. Take time to yourself and just be with it.
Uranus squares Pluto at 1:14 am on the 24th, for the first of seven passes that last until March 2015! It’s going to be a long, tough process of challenge and change, pushing us all to change in ways we wouldn’t have thought probable. The goal is to be more present, but also unencumbered by unnecessaries. It’s probably wise to strive for complete detachment to everything, because we can’t know what’s going to have to go, or what will be overhauled. Nothing stays the same; this can both comfort and disturb us, but we’d better work with it, because it’s not worth fighting. Honor this with complete surrender in order to find determination.
Jupiter squares Neptune on the 25th, emphasizing a very different sector of being than the ruthlessness that began yesterday. However, this could be the facilitator of the surrender demanded by Uranus and Pluto, we just have to get over everything we think we know and all of our expectation fantasies; or, you know, try. This isn’t so much a light at the end of the tunnel, as a flashlight to help light your immediate vicinity. Our solace is that there is always wondrous learning to be had, however intimidating the landscape. Oh, but use that intuition, it’s like batteries for that flashlight.
Saturn stations direct on the 25th, putting us on a resolution program for all the recent issues in relationships and relating in general. We have until October 5th to get our crap in order and recycled into compost before Saturn moves into Scorpio, and this window of opportunity closes. Respect and respect are probably the keys here; for ourselves and for everything else. Easier said than done, but we really have no choice but to try to make the most of what we’ve got. To each its own middle ground.
Mercury moves into Leo on the 25th, where he will stay until August 31st due to retrogradation. It’s wise to kick this extra-long stay off with enthusiastic expressions; sing, dance, sing some more, let the light in and out. This period will challenge us to have fun and humor in the midst of mayhem. So let us start now. “Music please.”
Venus stations direct on the 27th, bringing sweet relief to this retro’s undoing phase and offering some paths to resolution. The trick is that all may be more confusing than ever and contentment may still be a lofty but not yet savored goal. But wherever we find ourselves, it’s time to get back to civilization and re-enter the world that we used to call normal. And no matter what, keep an eye out for that contentment. We can’t always be happy, but we can enjoy what is.
The Sun opposes Pluto and squares Uranus on the 29th; blasting us head on with a challenge to re-establish what the heck we are doing with ourselves. It’s kind of a challenge to stay on course even when the destination is unknown. But, it’ll definitely let us know if we are passing the tests of transformation and we may have to consciously choose to ask for second helpings.
Mercury sextiles Jupiter on the 29th, getting us thinking about the logistics of how to keep moving down our roads. Planning and prioritization would help get it all sorted. We don’t have to make big choices yet, but we should definitely be studying up on our options. The mind needs to keep adjusting to keep up with the rest of the planetary shenanigans.
So, yeah, June will be interesting and more than a little precarious. If we’ve been keeping up with the planetary pace, then we should already be tired, so there’ll be some pace adjustment and some digging into reserves required here and there. Consistency is generally a good strategy, but definitely be patient, especially with the results these days, because so much is in play. Coach yourself, confirm your progress for yourself, cheerlead for yourself, et cetera. If anything, June seems to demand that we do things internally before they can be externalized in nice ways. Time will take us there.
The present is a point just passed. ~David Russell
