You need a little bit of insanity to do great things.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
(Print this out and put it in the bathroom where you can consult it daily. Maybe write the days of the week in the margins for quicker reference).
Well, March is here, so have no fear. It’s going to be kind of a wild month, but one that will revolve around the momentum that we’ve been carrying for the last couple of months, and years even. Certain things might need to be resolved quickly, before it’s too late. On the other hand, we could be graduating from having to struggle through long-standing concerns. It is largely an issue of momentum, but mixed with that elusive x-factor. The first half of the month is fast-paced and somewhat ruthless if we’re not prepared, so be very conscious. The second half starts to slow down a bit, but will be extra mysterious as we’ll be between two rather burly eclipses. Either way, let’s play along and see what we can accomplish.
Mercury sextiles Uranus and opposes Jupiter on the 1st at 7:55 am and 1:15 pm (pacific), ramping up the anxiousness and getting us feeling a little over-eager. The idea is to make the big plans without indulging in over-excitement or over-anxiety. Play some games or go on a walk to tone the energy down. Think it all through; expand and refine.
Jupiter trines Uranus on the 3rd at 4:27 am (pacific), jolting us into a quagmire of possibility. It may be more appropriate to figure out where we don’t want to go than to finalize any trajectories. But contemplating how to break through to betterness is definitely on the menu. Imagine unique solutions and start the journey.
Venus trines Jupiter, conjoins Uranus and squares Pluto on the 4th at 7:14 am, 10:46 am and 7:15 pm (pacific), frothing up all sorts of potential weirdness. Most of all, be careful and take things slowly. Seek to come to deeper understandings of our relationships and what we really like. Let the rest go. Focus on enjoying each moment to its fullest.
The Full Moon is on the 5th at 10:05 am (pacific) in 14 degrees of Virgo. This should be a relatively relaxed lunation, except for the fact that it falls between two very intense new moons. Focus on the newness coming in, and more specifically, removing all the obstacles in its way. We can’t see how it will all work out, but guess what, we don’t have to. Play the game like you know the rules and the best strategies.
The Sun sextiles Pluto on the 5th at 4:16 pm (pacific), nudging us towards releasing old hang-ups, emotional build-ups, and fear of the unknown. Try to refresh oneself and make room for things to come. But definitely release negative expectations.
Mars trines Jupiter on the 9th at 11:04 pm (pacific), opening the door to some clarifications and simplifications around what we want to be doing with ourselves. The idea is to trim away the distractions and get more on purpose. A rough draft is fine, so seize the initiative.
Mars conjoins Uranus and squares Pluto on the 11th at 9:06 am and 3:37 pm (pacific), so watch out. Take it carefully and release any built-up pressure as steadily and safely as possible. Avoid frenetic people and drama of any sort. Move through your own energy and hopefully find yourself renewed.
Mercury moves into Pisces on the 12th at 8:52 pm (pacific), where he will stay until the 30th. This is a time for more contemplation and less exact figuring. Time spent alone, with music or movies, in nature, swimming, et cetera, would be beneficial. Let yourself float into greater peacefulness.
Saturn stations retrograde on the 14th at 8:02 am (pacific), starting us down the path of revising and reconfiguring whatever has been brewing since December 23rd. Let go of whatever programming, fear, and inhibitions that are holding you back from this new paradigm shift. Continue to open to new ways of doing things and processing what has happened.
Mercury squares Saturn on the 16th at 2:41 am (pacific), pushing us to break out our measuring stick and see how things have been going. The trick is to not indulge in severity of assessment. We need to operate with enough slack and give ourselves credit. However, we also need to get our crap together and keep on chugging through the morass of our own consciousness. Don’t think too much, just do.
Uranus squares Pluto on the 16th at 6:50 pm (pacific) for the last of seven exact passes. Wowzers, it’s finally here. Hopefully we’ve been dancing with the earlier passes well and will ride this final wave towards shore with poise and grace. If not, catch up now; ditch all the hang-ups and blame fantasies and seek to be the fullest authentic versions of yourself. We have the power to choose to be ourselves: Instead of reacting to it all, act autonomously.
Venus moves into Taurus on the 17th at 3:15 am (pacific), where she will stay until April 11th. This should add a nice dose of savoring the pleasures of existence: tasty food, soft blankets, cozy touches, and more. Get practical and motivated while trying to enjoy as much as you possibly can. It’s the small rewards that keep us sane.
Mercury conjoins Neptune on the 18th at 1:49 am (pacific), demanding a pause and reflect session. We can’t know the unknowable, but we can relax the duality of our minds and be open to the numinous and mysterious sides of things. It’s not all mutually contradictory, so open the mind and then open it some more.
The Solar Eclipse is on the 20th at 2:36 am (pacific) in 29 degrees of Pisces. This total eclipse is a very important chance to jettison as much superfluous baggage as possible. It could be like an internal power wash, cleansing all the nooks and crannies and refreshing our general sense of self-connectedness. But we must take the initiative and strive in a non-linear sense towards this burgeoning newness. Make way for the new you.
The Sun moves into Aries on the 20th at 3:45 pm (pacific), starting another season of be you or be sorry. Of course we should be wary of over-inflicting ourselves on others, but we also need to stay true to ourselves in the face of opposition. Just remember, it doesn’t need to be as rushed as it may seem. Steady and awesome wins the race.
Mercury sextiles Pluto on the 22nd at 1:25 pm (pacific), giving us a chance to dredge the silliness from our minds. Let go of fear or defeatist fantasies and open to more novel solutions to long-standing problems. Clean out the recesses and then look for more issues to address.
Venus sextiles Neptune on the 23rd at 11:26 pm (pacific), prompting an enjoyable and relaxed attitude, despite the rest of the tumult. Sit down and enjoy something mellow-style. Or dance. Actually, definitely dance.
The Sun trines Saturn on the 25th at 12:25 pm (pacific), opening the door to some good planning sessions. It still doesn’t have to be overly detailed, but progress must be made in establishing plans of action. Trade discouragement for determination and be nice to yourself and others.
Venus squares Jupiter on the 27th at 7:11 pm (pacific), pushing us towards disappointment with the current fruits of our labors. But this should be overcome and we should all be counting our blessings, whether they are up to our expectations or not. And while we’re at it, let us rid ourselves of exaggerated expectations and just stay open to goodness.
Venus trines Pluto on the 30th at 12:45 am (pacific), bringing some under-funk up to the surface if we motivate towards working through it. This is definitely about appreciation and how much we have about our current situations. It’s a balance between acknowledging our disappointments while appreciating all that we have been given.
Mercury moves into Aries on the 30th at 6:44 pm (pacific), where he will stay until April 14th. This is a time to mentally clarify things and make some definite choices about what we’re working on. It’s important to reflect who we are without stepping on the toes of others. Don’t rush through anything though, and be careful to avoid flippancy.
Mars moves into Taurus on the 31st at 9:27 am (pacific), where he will stay until May 11th. This will slow things down a bit and is asking us to solidify, maintain and nurture the initiatives from the last month and a half. Complacency is not the way, but shifting towards a more staid approach could be wise. Practicality is king here, so play along and don’t rush the casserole out to the table before it’s cooked.
So, yeah, March. It could be crazy fun, or just plain crazy; it always depends. It seems like the idea is to catch up with everything that’s been cooking. There are so many irons in the fire that it will be a lot to juggle. But with care and caution it could work out beautifully. Either way, let’s not bemoan or obsess over any shortcomings and try to find some extra determination to make the most of these opportunities. There’s never anytime but the present.
