“Forget your voice, sing!
Forget your feet, dance!
Forget your life, live!
Forget yourself and be!”
New Moon in Leo, August 18 at 7:42 pm PT Trine Mars in Aries, this New Moon has courage, desire, and drama to spare. Occurring on the same day as Venus sextile Uranus, the message is clear: go your own way and take pride in your prowess. (@ChaniNicholas)
After an emotionally intense Cancer Season, in comes the Lion reminding us that joy is the greatest healer of all. Leo is ruled by fire and the Sun. She teaches us that without things to spark joy in our hearts, we wilt away like plants in a dark room. This Season inspires us to feel into our hearts and understand that they are the center of our being. Our heart is our core. It is the Sun of the micro solar system, which is our energetic field. The heart confidently leads to the answers of this Season’s questions. Questions like, what expands you? What causes you to smile? What makes you love life? And the greatest question of all–who are you?
The Season of Leo is always a special time of year when hardships seem a bit lighter, and we are reminded that life is meant to be enjoyed not endured. Leo Season is a celebration, teaching us how to fully open our hearts to develop compassion for ourselves and others. It is a time to heal our wounds through joy and learn to love ourselves unconditionally. A time to let ourselves get lost in the moment, not worrying about what others may think.
The energy of Leo is associated with play and children. This Season is a time to feel our inner child and bring them to the forefront of our conscious mind. Leo Season helps us understand that joy and play are important pieces of our growth. They are part of any transformational process, for they remind us of what makes us happy. Experiencing true joy in our life takes exploration and willingness to feel it. We need to understand that all beings are worthy of joy, including ourselves. Over Leo Season, continually say to yourself, “I am open to feeling joy” and see what it brings.
The first lesson of Leo to work with this Season is understanding yourself- your whole self. Leo encourages us to courageously look at ourselves from every angle. This includes the things we don’t like to admit to others, thoughts of regret, and the parts of our personality that bring us shame. Leo Season is a time to see it all and love it all. It’s also a time to feel our wounds. While bringing our inner child to light, we may find a wounded child who needs love, attention, and understanding.
While Leo Season is a joyous time, it’s not all fun and games. It’s also a powerful time to reflect and learn to trust the world again. Healing comes from accepting all the pieces of ourselves, which make us who we are today. Leo Season is an empowering time, but we must first recognize when we may have lost our power and how this loss formed wounds. We must see these cracks in our soul and fill them with the light of unconditional love.
Accepting, liking, and appreciating ourselves gives us self-esteem, a key component of Leo’s energy. When we admire ourselves, we gain power. This is not the type of self- admiration which causes vanity or narcissism. It’s the kind that causes us to truly value our gifts, our knowledge, and our creativity. When we embody self-esteem, we share ourselves with the world. We express our passions, create beautiful works of art, and spread joy through our willingness to be seen…
Expressing your truth to the world is important not only for you but for others. Every time you take a chance and step outside of your comfort zone to be seen, you inspire those around you to do the same. You become the brave-hearted leader Leo is known for and empower others to take a leap into being themselves. By being your most authentic self, you raise the collective vibration and tap into the infinite power of love. (@SpiritDaughter)
“This New Moon focuses our desires on all that relates to Leo and the fifth house, Leo’s domain. In the fifth house one is presented with recognition of self, expression of self…and Self Realization. This can happen at any age depending on where one is on the ‘Wheel’. This New Moon in Leo at 26 degrees, the Mars ruled decan of the sign of Leo, is strong, motivated, ambitious and aggressive. This is particularly so as Mars transiting is in Aries (24 degrees), its own sign and trining the Sun/Moon. This provides a shot of adrenaline to current events. It is neither good nor bad but will fuel the energetic natural flow and temporarily accelerate our passions for: whatever it is we ‘believe’ in. To remain calm? Take a look at your beliefs.
At the same time Mars is moving into a square with Saturn at 26 degrees Capricorn (exactly inconjunct Sun/Moon). So what does this mean? Limitations. Curtailing the usual energy of Mars in Aries but not dampening the passion. If we don’t examine our beliefs we may end up very frustrated. We will also notice that physical energy may not be the answer to solving all the imbalances that are evident at this time. Leading with the heart rather than the fist—voila! The natural enthusiasm of Aries is given a ‘responsible and mature’ channel for expression.

“Aware of the suffering caused by unmindful speech and the inability to listen to others, I am committed to cultivating loving speech and compassionate listening in order to relieve suffering and to promote reconciliation and peace in myself and among other people, ethnic and religious groups, and nations.
Knowing that words can create happiness or suffering, I am committed to speaking truthfully using words that inspire confidence, joy, and hope. When anger is manifesting in me, I am determined not to speak. I will practice mindful breathing and walking in order to recognize and to look deeply into my anger.
I know that the roots of anger can be found in my wrong perceptions and lack of understanding of the suffering in myself and in the other person. I will speak and listen in a way that can help myself and the other person to transform suffering and see the way out of difficult situations. I am determined not to spread news that I do not know to be certain and not to utter words that can cause division or discord.
