The Almanac is here!!
That which yields is not always weak.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
November just looks kind of crazy-insane, but mostly for the first half. There will certainly be some ups and downs and all arounds. If it’s not you going through the maelstrom, then it’ll probably be someone close to you–so be prepared, be flexible and stay available to change. By the time we get to the 17th, if we’re still standing, then it is likely to be more about processing and integrating whatever the heck just happened, or didn’t happen. Try not to get too hung up on trying to decipher it all, because so much is in flux and beyond measurement. Just flex with it.
Uranus squares Pluto on the 1st at 4:13 am (Pacific) for round 4 of 7 (2012-2015). This is crazy and deep and will hit everybody in different ways, but especially hard for those with planets in early cardinal signs. There’s really no simple translation; just forget what you think you know and try to get as radically present as possible. Then hold that space and change what you can. We can’t possibly know what will come, so just be and allow.
Mercury sextiles Mars and Pluto on the 1st at 5:03 am and 3:46 pm (Pacific), pushing the mind/awareness into some tense territories, hopefully for catharsis. Be careful and patient and avoid reacting to things in general. Any kind of purging you can do to lessen the clutter of the mind would be wise.
The Sun sextiles Pluto and conjoins Mercury on the 1st at 10:02 am and 1:19 pm (Pacific), bringing up yet more old issues for removal and hopefully giving us a great chance to align the mind and the heart as best we can. Stop trying to figure things out; just let yourself be.
The Sun sextiles Mars on the 3rd at 1:49 am (Pacific), amping up a bit of impatience and angst. Don’t rush through anything and stay cautious of your surroundings. Focus on finding new desires from within that can steadily be brought into greater clarity.
There is a Solar Eclipse on the 3rd at 4:50 am (Pacific) in 11 degrees of Scorpio. It’s a very intense eclipse that seems to be pushing us into uncharted territories on multiple levels at once. Or maybe we’re already in strange waters. Either way, this one is demanding emotional/psychological adjustments that won’t be easily made and may take quite some time to unfold. The simple strategy is to flow with everything as best you can and feel through things as they come up, but try to let them go instead of hanging on.
Venus moves into Capricorn on the 5th at 12:43 am (Pacific) where she will stay until March 5th (super long because of retrogradation). This transition is very important because it is setting us up for many months of working through our financial and relationship issues. Grounded practicality is the name of the game, and on the opposing team is fear and rampant uncertainty. It’s not a game we win, more like something we make it through. But the keys should be good old respect and patience, and more and more and more of those.
The Sun conjoins Saturn on the 6th at 4:01 am (Pacific), knocking us around to see how we hold up. We probably have felt this one coming and have hopefully prepared for it. The idea is to not get discouraged and just keep taking things step by step as the path unfolds before us. But definitely let old pains and fears go as best you can; cleanse the heart.
Jupiter stations retrograde on the 6th at 9:03 pm (Pacific), starting us off on a path to recalibrate all of our expectations about life and where and how we fit into it. It’s an especially good period to release entitlement issues and dangerous expectations. Let the visions stay visionary, but work on bringing them back to earth, back home, and sharing them with family and loved ones.
Venus sextiles Neptune on the 7th at 5:16 pm (Pacific), prompting us to take a little break from the work and the changes, as best we can. Watch a good film, listen to music, and relax however you can. If there’s no time or space for such things, then establish whatever internal peace you can and savor it.
Mercury sextiles Venus on the 8th at 4:24 am (Pacific), getting us thinking about what we really value when push comes to shove. Simplicity is beautiful and glorious when it also stokes our fires of enthusiasm and appreciation. Keep looking for gratitude with every step.
Mars sextiles Saturn on the 9th at 3:57 am (Pacific), so watch out. It would be wise to stay methodical and cautious because this combination can be rather ruthless if our attention strays. But it’s great for cleansing ourselves of old angers, frustrations, fears and hurts. Take the internal initiative.
Mercury trines Neptune on the 9th at 1:32 pm (Pacific), pulling our minds towards a relaxing float downstream. But once again this would be best utilized to jettison old mental constructs that no longer serve as inspiration and clear some room for newness to come.
Mercury stations direct on the 10th at 1:12 pm (Pacific), gearing us up for a weighty resolution phase, where much is still left to be digested and integrated. Keeping our awareness connected to our intuition and our gut feelings would be very wise because we can’t know what other people have really been going through and we can hardly know what we have. More will become clear in time.
Mercury trines Neptune on the 11th at 12:48 pm (Pacific), hopefully shining a few rays of inspiration into our consciousness. If not, then we should keep looking for something that keeps us going, helps us maintain our real-life morale. What else is there?
The Sun trines Jupiter on the 12th at 8:39 am (Pacific), offering us some optimism and buoyancy, which has been rare in the astrology of late. Ideally we should seize this momentum by at least reassuring ourselves that things are ostensibly going how they should be; or at least acknowledging that we are not in a position to decide otherwise. Stay open to smooth changes.
Neptune stations direct on the 13th at 10:43 am (Pacific), getting us rolling into the solution phase of our recent psycho-spiritual developments. A lot of this equation centers on real-life morale, our commitment to staying in this reality despite its ups and downs. Solace and inspiration are needed to keep our spirits high and contented enough to keep pushing ourselves down the road of life. Let the spirit within move you.
Venus squares Uranus on the 14th at 5:13 pm (Pacific), stimulating some rather tense and unpredictable energies. Stay loose and flexible and keep your own energy moving through you. Dance and get it all shaking loose. And avoid people who are on the dramatic side of things.
Venus conjoins Pluto on the 15th at 1:30 pm (Pacific), dredging our beings for fears and issues around finances, work and all of our relationships. It’s rather all-encompassing really because it hits us in the fun. Stay calm and as balanced as possible and readjust the supposed happiness requirements; maybe focus more on contentment.
The Full Moon is on the 17th at 7:16 am (Pacific) in 25 degrees of Taurus. This would be mellow enough, except that it’s following up on that potent eclipse on the 3rd. Therefore, issues that were brought up will come to fruition: either coming to a head or tending to shrink back to their normal sizes. It depends. But, as per usual, emotional practicality will help us make the most of these conundrums. Adjust what we can and allow the rest to be.
Mars sextiles Jupiter on the 19th at 6:49 am (Pacific), tempting us to go bold and go big, possibly to an undesirable extreme. Motivation and drive are very important, but it’s still wise to keep our feet on the ground and our goal posts in the realm of the short term and the viable. Don’t get stuck in the details or the big vision.
Mercury sextiles Pluto on the 20th at 6:07 pm (Pacific), bringing yet more old thought patterns up for review. Hopefully we have slashed and burned our silliness enough in the last few weeks, and this will find us rehabilitating a more centered mind, with deeper roots. Now is the time to integrate this new depth and bring the nutrients up for proper use.
The Sun moves into Sagittarius on the 21st at 7:48 pm (Pacific), urging us to seek out new adventures of the mind. Study something new, travel, explore. Do anything to give that sense of being on a journey, to hopefully supplant some of this whole overcome-and-survive vibe.
Venus sextiles Saturn on the 23rd at 10:46 am (Pacific), asking us again to reconfigure our wish lists in life towards more traditional and simplistic levels. Mostly our ground levels of life are what serve us most: close friends, loved ones, and staying connected to those people through tough times. But these things are extra important now.
The Sun squares Neptune on the 24th at 9:53 am (Pacific), tempting us to rebel from the here and now and to drift off into space. This could be fabulous if it’s meditative and peace enhancing. But now is not a good time to indulge escapist or avoidant tendencies. Enjoy the mystery of the mundane.
Mercury conjoins Saturn on the 25th at 5:55 pm (Pacific) for round three. Hopefully this finds us with enhanced maturity from the last month’s madness. If not, do it now. Either way, now we can solidify a better alignment with the practical requirements of ‘doing the best we can with what we have.’ What that means will be very specific to the context, but …
Mercury sextiles Venus and trines Jupiter on the 27th at 6:45 pm and 11:24 pm (Pacific), sending us into ruminations over better times or better prospects. We may be challenged around being appropriately grateful for what we have, when hindsight makes us imagine having had more. The idea is to forget the past and ignore the future and keep focusing on the immediate present. What else is there?
Venus opposes Jupiter on the 28th at 4:01 am (Pacific), furthering yesterday’s theme of wanting more versus loving what we still have. In theory, we could straddle that divide without contradiction, but the emphasis is still on expressing appreciation and love for all the grace that dances in our lives.
The Sun trines Uranus on the 30th at 10:25 am (Pacific), offering a chance to break through some old self-constraints and get a little more heart-centered. Just because the changes have been fast, confusing and somewhat ruthless doesn’t mean we should stop staying thoroughly in ourselves and our hearts. Actually, it means we had better.
November, November, what will you bring us? I wouldn’t say November has an exact theme, other than “Be ready, and wear your seatbelts.” I guess it’s kind of a mix of everything that has been brewing over the summer coming to a sort of new culmination point, which will actually turn out, eventually, to have been a launching point for the crescendo yet to come. In other words, it’s starting us down some kind of path, but nobody can possibly know what that is until probably 6 months from now. Flexibility and grace in the face of difficulty should be continually cultivated.
