No matter how fast light travels,
it finds that the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
(Print this out and put it in the bathroom where you can consult it daily. Maybe write the days of the week in the margins for quicker reference).
September should bring more processing and more catching up. Thankfully, it shouldn’t bring any more surprises to the table, unlike August. But it’s definitely going to want us to keep pushing through the old crap by playing catch-up, and also contemplating and strategizing about our futures. Particularly up for revision are our former versions of the future and our attachments to particular outcomes. So, let us keep processing and digesting, but jump into the pondering of prominent possibilities. Stay open to change.
Mercury moves into Libra on the 1st at 10:38 pm (pacific), where he will stay until the 27th, but then revisit from October 10th until November 8th. This is an important time to weigh and balance all of our recent ideas, especially with the help and input from trusted ones. Take time before making decisions and make sure that your vision is clear of biases. Find the middle ground and stick to it.
The Sun trines Pluto on the 3rd at 9:08 am (pacific), lightly frothing up some old fears and obsessions for review. This is a good time to cleanse and purge and contemplate more of the same. However, we must take the initiative in this trimming process lest we get forced to do a more thorough job in the future. Whittle it all down, at least the attachments.
Venus moves into Virgo on the 5th at 10:07 am (pacific), where she will stay until the 29th. This is a good time to implement health practices, update our rituals, and clean out our closets. Focus on practical improvements and cleaning things up and out. Don’t indulge in self-criticism.
The Full Moon is on the 8th at 6:38 pm (pacific) in 16 degrees of Pisces. This lunation will focus on clearing out the past to make way for newer futures. This will vary from person to person, but optimizing possessions, letting go of old pains, and so much more is possible. Let us catch up.
Mercury squares Pluto on the 9th at 3:38 pm (pacific), bringing up lingering resistances that have been around for most of this year. Hopefully we can let old thought blocks go and get down to the essentials of what we would really like to foster and what we want to work on throwing out. Dig deep and see what you find.
Venus opposes Neptune on the 10th at 3:51 am (pacific), pushing us to slow down and relax. Do what floats your boat and increases serenity: listen to some music, dance, swim, bathe, read poetry, meditate. But do work on letting go of tension and tightness.
Mercury sextiles Jupiter on the 10th at 11:37 am (pacific), bringing up our big ideas for further clarification. Are we aiming towards things we would really like? Are we open to the spectrum of options surrounding our core goals? There are many things to consider with this vibration, so stay open.
The Sun sextiles Saturn on the 11th at 8:04 am (pacific), asking us to take stock of where we stand; let some things go, and get more aligned. Be sure to give yourself and others credit instead of looking at shortcomings or making comparisons to lofty expectations. Get solidly realistic.
Mercury opposes Uranus on the 13th at 1:16 am (pacific), getting our brains buzzing and jittering away, probably in many directions. Let the ideas flow freely instead of trying to wrangle them into anything; but avoid coming to conclusions. And watch out for people spinning too much.
Mars moves into Sagittarius on the 13th at 2:57 pm (pacific) where he will stay until October 26th. This should be mellower, but crazy in a different way. It’s more about living the adventure, at least in our perceptions, and moving beyond the fear and emotional extremisms of the last month and a half. It would be well used to further contemplate where would like to take ourselves and to start establishing plans of action.
Venus trines Pluto on the 14th at 7:33 am (pacific), giving us a chance to do some more cleansing and purging. This would tend to focus on the physical body, home and gardens, but can also definitely relate to relationships on which we would like to spend less energy. Trim the fat wherever needed.
Venus sextiles Saturn on the 21st at 6:03 am (pacific), pushing us to recalibrate everything towards greater realism. Let go of the hang-ups, fears, defeatisms, worries, and the like; but also keep those high-hopes fantasies properly quarantined from the reality marker. Focus on the fundamentals of what serves you and release the rest.
Mars squares Neptune on the 21st at 8:40 pm (pacific), making for some diffusion and confusion with a strong helping of emotional sensitivity. This would be good for studying, reading, contemplating, doing spiritual practices, et cetera. It’s not a good time to get into fights or come to definitive decisions. Let the backburners of the mind keep stewing away and don’t try to figure it out.
Pluto stations direct on the 22nd at 5:34 pm (pacific), spitting us into the resolution phase for this year’s tumult. Start working on tying up loose ends and further integrating new developments while continuing to let go of outdated refuse. Just remember to keep it all in proper perspective.
The Sun moves into Libra on the 22nd at 7:29 pm (pacific), asking us to spend more time in small social gatherings and allowing ourselves to reflect back and forth with others. This particular Libra season will focus on the practicalities of living: simple is sweet. So, promote that straight-forward, and move past the rest, for now.
The New Moon is on the 23rd at 11:14 pm (pacific) in 1 degree of Libra. This lunation is offering a beautiful chance to renew and refresh all of our one-on-one relationships. This doesn’t mean more closeness all around, because some relationships will end up with more space between. The key is to be present with who you are in the now and whom you want to connect to and see yourself reflected through.
Jupiter trines Uranus on the 25th at 11:17 am (pacific), giving us the perfect chance to let our visions run wild and free amidst the hilltops of our heart’s longings. Let your imagination reach towards the heights; just don’t turn these into expectations. Explore and be super open, and then start working to bring some of this into being, but with patience and practicality.
Mercury moves into Scorpio on the 27th at 3:39 pm (pacific), where he will stay until October 10th and then come back on November 8th until November 27th. This ingress sets an important precedent for his return after retrogradation: It’s time to go deeply into all of our attachments to outcomes and future visions. So, plunge in and explore the hopes, dreams, and the fears that go along. Start renewing the awareness.
Venus moves into Libra on the 29th at 1:52 pm (pacific), where she will stay until October 23rd. This will mostly be a very pleasant energy, except that it will also bring up all the grand-cross energies from earlier this year. Relationships are the central focus of the adjustments, but it’s also about how we can better present ourselves in our current versions. Be who you are now as consistently as possible; keep moving forward.
So, yeah, we’ll see how September turns out, but it shouldn’t be that freaky. Issues that arose recently will definitely not be magically resolved, but they should be progressing and we should be becoming more accustomed to the pace of change. Keep your eyes and ears open on the quest to figure out your own trajectory, but avoid taking it all too seriously. It is an adventure in the end, and it wouldn’t hurt to embrace that mindset now. Glory in the weirdness.
