Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.
Tips for almanac use: All the aspects can be felt in advance of the occurrence. It is good policy to view these as due dates for various energies and prepare accordingly for your context. It’s akin to bringing an umbrella with you when rain is expected, but it also helps us to not take the weather personally. When we proactively manifest these symbols then the world doesn’t have to do it for us. Choose to be con(with)-siderate(the stars).
Yeah, September. Well, it’s super wild and crazy but also has a bunch of nice and shiny activities. What does that mean? It’s going to hit us all differently depending on whether we are on the chopping block or not, so the crazy parts will be experienced indirectly by some and dead-on by others. The friendly parts of the month are more easily accessed by all if we have the energy and awareness to pounce on these openings. So, it’s all kind of a weird mélange of playing along with the tough and being poised and receptive to the easy flow. Hopefully, we’ll all come out feeling reinvigorated.
There is a Solar Eclipse on the 1st at 2:03 am in 9 degrees of Virgo. This one is super-charged with contradictions and tensions. Put simply, we’re being asked to let go of as much old programming and outdated energy patterns as possible. The tricky part is that it’s very hard to know exactly how to do this and what to jettison. It basically has to be done with a strong intuition and a healthy dose of trust. Let’s renew ourselves.
The Sun squares Saturn on the 1st at 8:22 pm, letting us check in on what progress we’ve made over the past few months. Are we resisting change or growing into it? Are we being patient with ourselves and the pains of change?
The Sun opposes Neptune on the 2nd at 9:38 am, asking us to take a step back from it all and get some perspective on ourselves. Things could be confusing if we’re trying to stay rational and cohesive. Instead, flow through it and allow yourself to stew in where you are currently.
Mercury conjoins Jupiter on the 2nd at 10:18 am, pitting big ideas against nitty-gritty details. The ideal would be to fuse the two into grand visions with discernable steps to get us there. But don’t get hung up on technicalities.
The Sun trines Pluto on the 6th at 10:17 pm, agitating our under-layers so that we can filter out some gunk. This focus is on our self-care and health habits. Are we paying attention to what we eat? Are we taking enough time to rest and recuperate? Do what you can to make little improvements add up.
Venus sextiles Saturn on the 7th at 4:34 am, prompting us to take a gander at our work output versus our rewards. Patience is required to see some projects through and be comfortable with delayed gratification. All in due time.
Jupiter moves into Libra on the 9th at 4:18 am, where he will stay until October 10th, 2017. It would be wise to do a ritual to honor this transition as it sets the momentum for over a year. The focus will shift towards relationships and harmonizing all of them as best we can. The major goal is greater understanding of others and how we relate to them and how they relate to us. We have time to work on these things, but let’s get it started now.
Saturn squares Neptune on the 10th at 6:10 am, for a final hurrah between these vastly different planets. It’s a tricky dance between respect or judgment versus compassion or confusion. Nothing is simple about this square, so the best we can do is find some middle ground where we honor ourselves and our narratives/experiences with compassion, and, ideally, manage to do the same for others. Let us grow into greater relatedness and clarity.
Venus squares Pluto on the 11th at 12:45 am, frothing up whatever relationship issues have been lurking. The idea is to clear the air between loved ones, but carefully. Don’t indulge in projection or villainizing, or financial fears. Focus on the good.
Mercury squares Mars on the 12th at 11:59 am, making for a dangerous day on the road and in communications. The main strategy is to be very careful and conscientious: Think things through before speaking, or, pretty much everything. This is good for cutting out unhealthy thought patterns and trimming down the noise.
Mercury conjoins the Sun on the 12th at 4:40 pm, asking us to re-center our hearts with our minds. Brains often get a little ahead of themselves and then need to slow it down and check back in with the whole of our beings. Speak and think with heart.
The Sun squares Mars on the 13th at 1:39 pm, tempting us towards all sorts of impatience and pickiness. Certain things can be blasted through quite quickly, but it requires conscious action.
There is a Lunar Eclipse on the 16th at 12:05 pm in 24 degrees of Pisces. This is also an intense eclipse, so buckle your seatbelts. It’s a little all-over-the-place but it’s definitely about rolling with the punches and keeping our heads above water. Take time and space for self-care and reflection and don’t get distracted by whatever shenanigans abound and surround.
Mars trines Uranus on the 17th at 12:04 am, making for a whacky and erratic day. We may find ourselves itching for something wild and new, but don’t do anything too rash. Study something bizarre, plan a trip, and get your heart pumping.
Venus opposes Uranus on the 18th at 1:06 am, pushing us to break out of ruts in our relationships. However, this needs to be done with care and appreciation for the weird and wild sides in all of us. Do something out of the ordinary, sing, dance, and revel in the beauty of life.
Venus sextiles Mars on the 19th at 4:53 am, asking us to harmonize our actions with our intended goals. This is a good time to make sure we are working towards something we really want or to reconfigure our goals. Aim high but focus on the essentials in life.
Mercury trines Pluto on the 20th at 6:41 pm, opening the door to some deep deconstruction of old mental patterns and unhealthy habits. The idea is to gently alter our standard practices towards the less complicated and more healthful. Be real with yourself but don’t indulge in judgment.
Mercury stations direct on the 21st at 10:31 pm, starting us on the path of putting everything back together. Hopefully the last three weeks opened up a number of truths and deeper clarity and now we can proceed to implement these new discoveries. But do take it slowly and carefully.
The Sun moves into Libra on the 22nd at 7:22 am. This go around will center around expanding our social circle and the amount of understanding that is shared amongst us and our people. The art of listening will help this process dramatically, so be attentive to what others have to share with you.
Mercury trines Pluto on the 23rd at 1:36 am, pushing us to relax our minds and our fears and to be more present with the needs of the moment. Trimming down on unnecessary clutter and thoughts would help. Simple and sweet is the goal.
Venus moves into Scorpio on the 23rd at 7:51 am, where she will be until October 18th. This increases the need for enthusiasm and passion. We should seek entertainment and people that get us excited and ready to take things further and deeper than we are used to. Intense music would also be most appropriate.
The Sun conjoins Jupiter on the 25th at 11:59 pm, prompting some big ideas about where we are taking ourselves and our relationships with everything. This could mean that we will start presenting ourselves in a way that better matches our present reality. We need to really show up, but should not impose ourselves on others either. Find the balance.
Pluto stations direct on the 26th at 7:59 am, beginning the resolution process for the past 5 months of upheaval and alteration. As per usual, Pluto likes us to trim things down to their core essentials and recycle the rest. Hopefully, we have trimmed radically and can now begin to reconstruct situations that have been in disarray.
Mars moves into Capricorn on the 27th at 1:08 am, where he will stay until November 8th. This is a great time to power through lots of progress and accomplishments; the trick is to stay super consistent. Determination can be strengthened and much can be done, especially if we consider them opportunities more than obligations.
The New Moon is on the 30th at 5:11 pm in 8 degrees of Libra. This should actually be a rather nice lunation, unless we have been dramatically struggling throughout the month. If we’ve been doing well, this will help bring more balance and calm the erratic ins and outs of late. If we’ve been struggling, then now is the time to get super aligned with the lessons of the moment. Either way, be gentle with yourself.
So, September. It’s totally all over the place and surely won’t leave us where we started. It’s hard to say anything super definitive about it since it demands an unusual amount of responsiveness from us. We got to roll with the punches and dance to the beat and hopefully we’ll figure out some profound realizations and get a better grasp on what has been going on. May we all prosper from these opportunities.
