Full Moon March 27th, 2013 @ 6 degrees Libra 05:27 a.m. EDT 2:27 a.m. PDT
Awakening is not a thing. It is not a goal, not a concept. It is not something to be attained. It is a metamorphosis. If the caterpillar thinks about the butterfly it is to become, saying ‘And then I shall have wings and antennae,’ there will never be a butterfly. The caterpillar must accept its own disappearance in its transformation. When the marvelous butterfly takes wing, nothing of the caterpillar remains.― Alejandro Jodorowsky
When heaven and earth conspire to awaken and purify there is little help for the creatures large and small that populate regions in between. Though humans have grown up to be clever, creative and highly resourceful there isn't much to be done for volcanic eruptions or stepped leader lightning strikes. If we oppose factions of war and an instinctive need for peace what manifests in the process of creating balance could be a ferocious display of Mother Nature or an equally shocking event as a result of human nature pushing the desire for power and self-gratification.As we scrutinize the Full Moon chart for March a number of possibilities may be derived from its design but there is only one outcome. These days, which seem to unfurl with an ease and considerable grace visited upon us by unseen forces that permeate our 'atmosphere' with an abundance of great good will, that outcome is being determined by a new kid on the block that looks like well being for all and a growing awareness for "that", our true nature, in which abiding peace and stillness over ride all other occupations.Any fears that the stellium in Aries opposing the gentle but determined Moon in Libra an can be alleviated when we consider what offsets the cardinal t-square that presents rather formidably here. At first glance Venus conjunct Sun and Uranus and Mars not far off squared by Pluto with Moon opposing, might speak of well aimed arrows that strike very close to vital parts in an attempt to get us to surrender and relax into acceptance rather than self gratification and aggrandizement. Many of us, having leapt a series of well-placed hurdles over the last 15 or 20 years are well positioned for any perceivable “strike”. Essentially there is nothing that can stir the stillness that abides when inner peace and tranquility have taken up residence. There is no one to notice. For others less accustomed to the process of detachment the next week or so may come as an unwelcome series of deliberate attempts on your “life”. Stubborn resistance and willful execution of limiting habits may serve to increase the feeling of running uphill against the wind.We may take heart though in what quietly pervades this chart and acts to subtly diminish the affects of the god of the Underworld (Pluto) facing off with the god of War (Mars). The Lord of Karma (Saturn) is retrograde in Scorpio and trines a Mercury/Chiron conjunction in Pisces. This squared by chief of the gods, Jupiter in Gemini. What does it mean? Thoughts guided toward healing a planet, people, of patterns that have served to undermine our connection to a deep level of wisdom and knowing=suffering for lack of self worth. This healing contributes to, on an individual level, thus initiating a collective cleansing, a sense of perfection in every moment that is realized as notion of Self radiates from the boundless formless sea of infinite awareness. The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is “a woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks”. The image implies the attempt by one limited to physical reality to resist the incoming light of loftier vision. It suggests, at this time, a need to surrender to and/or accept what we intuitively know to be true. What that is, may come to us as what appears to be threatening. However, with Aries occupying a strong position on the opposite side of this symbol we are motivated to explore new dimensions, the often yet to be realized Self. Aries, spiritual warrior fears not the unknown nor evades what might appear to be dangerous territory. This Full Moon, with Uranus, lord of the Sky, figuring prominently, (aspects Mars, Chiron, Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter from its position 2 degrees from the Sun/Venus and opposing the Moon) has the potential to catapult us from an understanding of duality into the ah, hah moment of absolute awareness. As the illuminator through radical change, Uranus jolts us into a new level of awareness that recognizes the illusive nature of physical existence thereby clarifying Self as truth. Any one who has experienced awakening might agree that it is a blessing even if one were to be struck by lightning, if that is what it takes, to extinguish memory or conditioning in order to glimpse the truth and set one free.Mercury has been within a couple degrees of Chiron since March 7 and continues to be square to Jupiter in Gemini until the beginning of April. As Jupiter represents abundance, expansion and growth and Chiron leads us toward wholeness through healing it would seem that Mercury in Pisces eager to learn and curious to cross boundaries seeks freedom from conditioned patterns that limit awareness. The 90-degree angle promotes a sense of knowingness that traverses the domain of spirit and surfaces in physical reality—a wise knowingness peeking through the crack in the veneer—the glimpse that leads to clarity, that is, the freedom to “be”.Relationships will continue to be the arena in which we see our selves and everything we may still be wrestling with that prevents us from loving our self. Sun conjunct Venus in Aries here. We have a good chance for several days to try it out, to at least understand what that means. Loving thy self requires what conventionally may appear as selfishness. So be it. The result is more to go around for everyone and it happens with no effort at all.New Moon April 10th: Venus/Mars conjunct the New Moon-Now that’s a spicy!
