"Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another"—George Eliot
Full Moon February 25, 2013 @ 7 degrees Virgo 3:26 p.m. EST 12:26 p.m. PSTThere is a gentle knowing permeating awareness about which we need know nothing as ‘it’ guides us without effort or involvement. If one is sensitive to energy, it may be seen/felt as tiny filaments of light, an infinite display, of microscopic fingers reaching through space to touch and embrace everything. If we gaze into our hearts we can feel it there, an eternal web of love, breathing itself through the physical form to eventually consume us and our notions of past/future, time and individual existence. We awaken as ocean. The Sun moved into Pisces on February 18th and Saturn stationed retrograde 5 hours later setting us up for a rather serious look at what lies sequestered beneath the polished or not so polished exterior. Expect pondering that focuses upon elusive emotional patterns and critical judgment that finds it self returning to us (Mercury also is retrograde in Pisces) and illuminating a habitual denial of the truth generated by fear of non-existence.At this Full Moon, in the light of which we are exposed to all that apparently prevents us from knowing the self as perfect, Virgo seeks to know the self as perfect in the 360 degree circle that moves us inward to Pisces and Self realization. With five planets in Pisces and Venus on the verge of the Neptunian abyss at 29 degrees 43 minutes Aquarius, the inevitability of master/madness reverberates through all of our chambers with deafening veracity. In madness we may teeter on the edge of losing the mind and fear the edges of insanity as a loss of control but as we familiarize our selves with what we most fear what loomed as terrifying projections is embraced as the simple most precious gift we might receive. Losing the mind is not a terrible thing. In these few days it may feel as though the rug is being snatched out from beneath you and there may be a tendency to want to escape from what seems to be a clear path to self destruction but you may simultaneously experience an urge to remain and face the fear and all of its siblings that have been toted about for far too long. Saturn sextile Pluto. You may want to dash in denial but you won’t get far. Taking responsibility for what has laid brooding and festering in perpetual shadow is a task that will be undertaken with determination. Saturn and Pluto both aspect the Sun/Moon even though it is a little wide at 4 degrees separation. To ensure that we do not sink into despair whilst wandering through Tartarus, that we maintain a grasp of the bigger picture, is Jupiter in Gemini exactly squaring the Sun/Moon.With this benefic in a position of great influence the Sun continues to rise. We are greeted with a glowing warmth every day that bubbles up from abundant source. Optimism grips us and we are transported by wing and talon toward inner peace. How do we know this? Infinite experience with divine oneness that finally becomes self evident in the stark brilliance of everything. Here we perch, like Venus about to free her self of any final constraints, waiting to fling our self into the wild possibility of experiencing complete freedom—with ease and grace, no actual effort required. Jupiter keeps us focused on the big picture where we sense the need for wisdom not thought and compassion not sympathy. We reach up and out, expanding into, until all thought of separation no longer exists and harmony pervades where conflict once divided. The fixed star aligned with this Full Moon is Alula Borealis a double star in the left hind foot of Ursa Major, the Big Bear. There are three double stars that mark the feet of the greater bear and were called the first, second and third leaps of the gazelle by Arabian astronomers. In the mythology of the constellations, the set of stars forming Ursa Major were at one time thought to be a gazelle leaping from a pond (a dark area of space near Ursa Major) for fear of being lashed by the Lion’s tail nearby. Symbolically, what is the evolutionary significance of this second leap with which we are now connecting? The arc of the three leaps is toward the constellation of the Lynx a very faint star system lying off the forepaw of the great Bear. It was named after the wild cat, Lynx, that possesses superior night vision and is therefore, associated with the ability to unravel hidden truths. To the native population the Lynx was the “keeper of secrets”. The emblem of an ancient society that included Galileo as a member, Accademia dei Lincei (Academy of Lynxes) was a lynx overpowering Cerberus, guardian of the underworld, “invoking the lynx’s reputation for seeing through falsehood and discovering truth”. It would appear that we gain ground upon illusion and draw nearer the deeper level of truth that informs all of us even if so quietly, the influence is at first just perceptible.Curious to know if and when we connect with the third leap that involves Talitha, the star in the great Bear’s forepaw. As close as I can ascertain, and if I am wrong please let me know, this occurs at the Full Moon of January 23rd, 2016 when the Moon is within a degree of Talitha’s position at 2 degrees Leo 48 minutes. In Arabian myth Talitha refers to the third leap of the gazelle. In Biblical terms Talitha=daughter of the assembly and relates to a story of Jesus healing the daughter of an acquaintance. When healed Jesus said to the girl, “Talitha cumi”=daughter arise and would seem to symbolize an opportunity for Self realization as the potential for Self love increases with our absolute knowing. There is nothing to support that this may also relate to the rising of Venus but I make that connection. In so doing cannot help but associate this leap with the higher vibration of Venus as goddess of unconditional love and compassion. There is always the potential for all of us awakening in every and any moment but as that is not likely to happen right now, it is interesting to observe the trajectory that we apparently follow. It consists of lighter and brighter, more grace and a growing love that is undeniable in terms of people relating to them selves, this planet and each other. Optimism is a quality that is associated with Jupiter. Jupiter was once the ruler of Pisces and figures prominently in this Full Moon scenario. The Moon in Virgo stands quite alone in opposition to all but one planet, Saturn that acts to ground and give focus to this very sensitive position but Saturn, it self in Scorpio, is supremely critical, not missing even the minutest of details in pursuit of perfection. At this time, be kind to your self. Be attentive when on the roads and when communicating with others. And be. The Full Moon is a dynamic energy that promotes growth, expansion through reflection. It is a gift through which we choose to embrace everything as my self and when I love my self I naturally love all.
