Inner Fire | Full Moon in Aries 10/1 at 2:06pm PST

The Full Moon in Aries occurs on October 1st, at 2:05pm PT. Sitting next to its ruler Mars and Chiron, this Full Moon has no chill. Always a little extra, this Full Moon in Aries takes it to the next level and is bound to magnify the messages of Mars retrograde. Red hot and bothered, we’ll need to balance the moment with intentional coolants to the system. The last square between Mars in Aries and Saturn in Capricorn occurs on September 29th, as Mars is retrograde and Saturn stations direct. This is a very defining corner of the year, one that will have most of us finishing up an important project or in the midst of challenging decisions. There isn’t much margin for error, so be a good scout and come prepared.

"Ruled by Fire and the planet Mars, Aries brings us passion, courage, and motivation this Full Moon. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is home to the first house of the self. Aries directs our attention to ourselves and reminds us that we each have a purpose in this lifetime. Our job is to find that purpose, then have the courage to pursue it.The Aries Full Moon is a time to realign with your soul’s mission and release anything that blocks you from walking the path that is only yours to walk. Aries teaches us that finding our purpose is only half the battle. Once found, our path can be full of obstacles and adversities. Aries brings us the warrior spirit to overcome difficulties and use them as stepping stones to the next level.Aries energy inspires us to keep climbing our mountain even when we lose motivation or forget why we are climbing in the first place. Aries represents our internal fire, the part of us that goes the extra distance, the part that doesn’t become fooled by the mind’s weakness, and the part that trusts in our strength to persevere. Align with Aries to give you the motivation to pursue your greatest passions and defeat any self-doubt that tells you it isn’t possible. Under an Aries Full Moon, anything is possible. In its most exalted self, Aries brings us passion. This energy gets us out of bed in the morning, excited to greet the day, full of drive and direction. When we align with Aries’ high vibrations, we call in the energy needed to start new projects, breakthrough roadblocks, and make decisions that serve our highest self. Aries teaches us how to fight for what we want and to listen to our intuition above all else."

Release Ritual for the Full Moon in Aries

Breath of Fire is a calming, detoxing, pain relieving, strengthening form of pranayama (breathing technique)."Breath of fire is a rhythmic breath focused on the exhale. It helps move the energy of the body, breaking up any stagnation. It also helps create motivation by fanning the internal flames, while ensuring they don’t burn out. To prepare for this breath work, practice the exhale. Take a short sharp exhale out of the nose as if you were trying to blow out a candle. You will feel you belly pulling back as you exhale, helping to force the air out. This is the exhale you will use for Breath of Fire.Come to a comfortable seated position with your spine upright. Lift up through the crown of your head, relaxing your shoulders. Close your eyes. Inhale about two-thirds of your lung capacity, then take 20 short sharp exhales as you previously practiced. Remember to focus on the exhale, allowing the inhale to happen naturally. With each one, feel the belly snapping back. It will feel like you are pumping the abdomen. After 20 exhales, take a deep inhale and hold the breath for a count of 10. Feel the air circulate throughout the torso, creating space and room for energy to roam. Take your normal exhale, letting all of the air out. This is one complete round. Practice a second round ending with another long inhale and full exhale. Slowly open your eyes, observing the space you feel in your body and freedom in your energy."
