Full Moon June 23, 2013 @ 2 degrees Capricorn 04:32 a.m. PDT 07:32 a.m. EDT
“Doesn't it seem to you," asked Madame Bovary, "that the mind moves more freely in the presence of that boundless expanse, that the sight of it elevates the soul and gives rise to thoughts of the infinite and the ideal?” ― Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary
There has been a grand trine in water since the beginning of June when Mercury moved into Cancer joining Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Mercury moved out of orb just as Venus came into aspect. The moon moved quickly through at the same time. Now the Sun in Cancer takes it’s turn while Moon in opposition forms the apex of a kite (a trine with an opposition). What does it mean? The mind moves upon the rolling waves. As mentioned in the New Moon article of June 8th, sensitivity focused upon areas of the personal psyche that often are hidden or apparently inaccessible. Deep emotional issues rise to the surface begging for air time. What lies in the depths begins to appear as a great treasure rather than something fearsome. The answer to liberation looms into view, out of the shadows, as the acceptance of what is rather than denying its existence. The light shines forth from the darkness. But who knew; that on the other side of pain is peace.Trines tend to be a harmonious flow of energy from one planet to the next. In water, the energy may remain submerged until here or there an outlet appears through which to manifest the creative spirit. At this Full Moon the light of recent subconscious activity emerges and shines forth with purpose, great capacity and a desire for achieving whatever project has limped along assisted only by an occasional gust of wind many times re-cycled on its journey round the globe. Moon in Capricorn provides the dedicated effort and the necessary structure to successfully complete. The cast of characters has a director. A plethora of words find their way into sensible sentence structure. And myriad sensations dance forth in color, in sound, nurtured by the natural rhythms both deep and topical. A feast awaits where once famine crawled upon wasted limbs.Independent we rise from an ocean of infinity. As we rise, a bubble breaking the surface, a sigh maneuvers between the strands of solidified thought—an exhale—expanding and ‘forcing’ liberation from the web of patterns binding us to a weaving, a backdrop for the many experiences that have defined existence. Without definition, emptiness, no sigh, no ocean, no patterns. There is an almost unperceivable sound muffled by layers and layers of sediment, grinding, as tectonic activity shifts ancient formations. Chaos ensues and structures serving no purpose dissolve. A ladder appears and we scramble to the next level of action that may even be, inaction. Energy drifts or races by. It doesn’t matter. I am not attached to any outcome. My purpose is no purpose but to be Self ultimately the greatest gift, the greatest achievement one accomplishes; the pinnacle, that once reached provides the eternal moment of peace. We are swallowed by the breath. We look up at a Full Moon captivated by its luminosity, its warm glow in a dark sky.It is every individual stripped of all beliefs and being truth without limitation. In the Tarot deck the Moon, XVIII of the major Arcana represents the ability to plunge fearlessly into the shadows and to bring forth light of awareness that dispels the darkness or ignorance. Ignorance is not negative, just unaware. If we take a look at Saturn, ruler of Capricorn now residing in Scorpio we can acquire more clarity about this Full Moon. The nature of Scorpio is to recognize the illusion that greets us daily and to rise ‘above’ physicality or duality into the awareness of I am, symbolized by the white dove, Scorpio’s third stage of development (1st=scorpion 2nd=eagle). I am repeating myself to say that Saturn operates in such a way to eliminate old patterns of behavior by persistently bringing focus to what we perceive to be our inadequacies, those thoughts that prevent us from knowing mastery—dissolution of ignorance.Saturn drives us to overcome imperfections and then to know that imperfections exist only in duality. This is an ongoing process as Saturn resides in Scorpio until 2015. It’s present trine to Neptune in Pisces reigns in tendencies toward escapism in favor of deeper understanding of our spiritual nature or true Self. This easily absorbed by the conscious self, symbolized by Sun in Cancer. Cancer is highly sensitive and very receptive to emotional energies. As such there is an opportunity here to receive insight easily concerning emotional evolution.Another Full Moon and another chance to bring clarity to dimly lit areas, the contents of which poke at us at first intermittently and then consistently once their presence is acknowledged. At the same time love abounds. Diminished is the need for judgment replaced by an acceptance for what is and abiding peace.
