Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air…
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Solstice greetings to our friends and community,
Do you hear it? The call of the wild--the call of long, warm days. The call of shorts and flip-flops, beach walks and mountain hikes, of home grown tomatoes and backyard bounty. The call from the earth herself and her creatures to come out and play, to connect, renew, ground and balance, and to celebrate our embodiment right here in our own beautiful home.Or perhaps, your call will take you on a hero’s journey to distant lands with the opportunity to experience unfamiliar landscapes, peoples and creatures, expanding your awareness of what it is to be a human being on planet earth, then returning to community enriched with these new understandings. Each season brings its own opportunities and beauties for our transformational delight. This solstice we will have ample creatures, imagined and otherwise, right here in Santa Barbara. Yep, you guessed it--the Solstice Parade and Festival’s theme this year is ‘Creatures’.
