There is no drop of water in the ocean, not even in the deepest parts of the abyss that does not know and respond to the mysterious forces that create the tide.
~Rachel Carson
Greetings to our friends and community,Merry May! May is a time of celebrating life, light, love, sacred unions, fecundity, the divine feminine within and without, and Wesak, the Buddha’s birthday. This May Day we want to give a shout out to Rachel Carson, born May 27, 1907. Rachel Carson was a marine biologist and beautiful nature writer. She was the author of several books, including the revolutionary book Silent Spring. She asked hard questions, and provided compelling scientific work on how all biological systems are dynamic and interconnected--birthing the modern ecology movement. Most importantly she urged the public to question authority and ask “who speaks, and why”? It has been fifty five years since the publication of Silent Spring, and in light of current events, her brave contribution is a living legacy, and a reminder to question authority and ask “who speaks, and why”? We invite and invoke all the many faces of the divine feminine: the gentle, nurturing mother; the fierce defender; the wise elder crone; the cosmic mother; and our personal mothers. We celebrate, honor, acknowledge, give thanks, devotion and love.Challenging times require celebrating everything!Make Merry.
