For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.
~Edwin Way Teale
Greetings to our friends and community,Summer wanes. Autumn approaches. In the middle of the day, in the middle of last week I stopped in my tracks as a hint of fall hit me. There was a quickening to the air, a subtle shift in the slant of light that came out of the blue. Schools have re-opened their doors; the basil has gone to seed. I marvel at how ingrained the rhythm of the wheel of the year is even for this 21st century southern Californian urban woman with a farmer’s soul.September always feels like a sweet pause at the end of summer and before the year rushes to its end. Between the tragedies of the fire and mud of winter and the squeeze of a prolonged eclipse season this summer, I am ready for a pause. It’s a sweet and perfect time to check in with oneself. I think of it as a “re” time—time to re-evaluate, re-assess, re-commit to those visions, projects, and dreams I started the year with. I do a happy dance for what has been achieved thus far, a happy dance for what I’m letting go of, and a happy dance for what I can create in the following four months--finishing 2018 strong! And, yes, it is true, 2019 calendars have begun to arrive. Keep your eyes open for a creative, inspiring and delightful selection to be hitting the shelves soon. From all of us to all of you, a cornucopia of blessings…Teresa, spirit of Thule, Tucker, Huxley and all at Paradise Found
