Warm and Grateful Greetings to our friends and community,

The above quote is well worn and oft used by me and many others, but there is something that feels so true and complete about it that I have once again called upon it to do gratitude duty. One could hang out with each line for a while and be enriched and inspired.

One of the things I most love about the times we are living in is the opportunity and challenge of creating personally meaningful seasonal and cultural celebrations. Whether it is the honoring of our ancestors and all that which has passed before with Samhain/Hallomas, or coming up in a blink of the eye, Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving  is one of those perfect opportunities to treasure tradition while up-leveling our experience and contribution.

The opportunity is to explore the role of gratitude in our lives; the nature of our birth families; the role of our families of choice and find ways of celebrating and appreciating them all in ways that are reflective of our current values and our visions for the future.

The opportunity is to share in our abundance, our harvest. We affirm our abundance by sharing our resources—our time, energy, and money. There are infinite ways to make this a practice. There are two local organizations that do important work in nourishing our community and no doubt would welcome you affirming your abundance of time, energy or money: The Organic Soup Kitchen and Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.
