This month brings us 2 brand new CDs I am really excited to share. First, the newest in a successive line of fantastic CDs from the inimitable Deva Premal! Your Password to a “rich fusion of sound and silence” has just arrived!

This much anticipated new album brings all new music with a slightly new twist and includes her signature collaboration with Miten & Manose. From the producer of her very first album (and still one of my favorites) Essence, Danish producer Rishi introduced a bit of Copenhagen’s jazz scene into the mix. The result is a “musically refined album with sublime arrangements of ancient mantras, complementing Deva’s soulful vocals.”

Mantras are passwords that transform the mundane into the sacred,” says Deva Premal. And I for one, feel that Premal’s chanting takes me on that extraordinary journey! Check out this clip of one of my favorite songs from her new album entitled Narashima.
