In Love & Service

Gandhi, Quan Yin & St. Francis

We are reveling in the early, subtle signs of fall. The air is lighter with a hint of crisp here and there. The light is sparkly, alive and things seem lit from within. Early October brings a slow, lovely winding down from the exuberance of summer. Just past the equinox, there’s a smooth, gentle, calm groove available; no tug of war of opposites.

In a world that appears hot, reactive, and tugging in many different directions, may we ride the cooling, calm so that a path for compassion and peace is paved. May we follow the lead of Mahatma Gandhi, Francis of Assisi and Kuan Yin, who are celebrated this month, and embody the qualities of compassion, simplicity, service, and a resolute gentleness that is also powerful and effective.

We are excited to let you know that at the end of the month, October 27-30, the Association of Global New Thought is producing the first Awakened World Film Festival right here in our beautiful community. In addition to screenings, there will be interactive workshops that will guide participants from inspiration to transformative action in spirit, society and self. We invite you to check it out, be inspired and be a cool, calm first-responder for transformative action.

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.

~Mahatma Gandhi
